Sue has considerable experience as a Labour Councillor in Leicester, holding many roles, and has represented Fosse ward for 5 years. She has successfully campaigned during the last four years for:-

  • Controls in the growth in the number of houses in multiple occupation to protect family homes
  • More rights for private tenants to live in safe and well-maintained homes
  • Environmental improvements like cleaner streets, addressing fly tipping, better parks with lighting, play and exercise equipment.
  • Support for the voluntary sector in Fosse, including the food bank, adventure playground and residents and community groups.

Sue and her family have lived in Leicester for over 40 years and she is a graduate from the University of Leicester.

She worked in Adult Education, which is one of her passions, and represented Leicester in the European Parliament. She has a lifelong commitment to the Labour values of social justice, fairness and equal opportunities.

During these tough times under the Tories, leading to the cost of living crisis and increased poverty, Sue has worked hard in helping Fosse residents and their families gain access to a wide range of support.

She holds regular surgeries and street walks and is always available on the phone and email to respond to residents’ concerns. She has the experience and dedication to get things done!
